The Paula Brown Performing Arts Center(PBPAC) is pleased and excited to host forty (40) girls ages eight (8) to seventeen (17) years old, from the Ezintle School of Dance, in Pretoria, South Africa. These students will participate in the Brown Ballerinas Dream Big (BBDB) Summer Intensive Program from June 26 through July 7, 2023. Students will study at the Kennedy Center and the PBPAC. Your support will make a huge difference in their lives.
The overarching program is a dance exchange centered on social impact and Ballet. It will provide top-tier classical ballet training from renowned ballet professionals. Our mission aligns with the initiatives in the Black Dance sector to break down barriers, dispel myths, and create spaces for diversity and inclusion. PBPAC is committed to this mission for Black and Brown youth interested in Classical Ballet. We need your support to help bring the South African Students here. The cost per student is $2000, bringing the total for forty students to $80,000. The cost provides housing, meals, and local transportation to classes at the Kennedy Center, Washington, DC (providing full scholarships for the first week), and the Paula Brown Performing Arts Center, Suitland, Md.for the remaining two weeks.
