The best decision we made...
"What can I say. The Paula Brown Performance Arts Center (PBPAC) was the best decision we made in selecting a dance school for our then 3 year old daughter, Savannah. When I called to inquire about classes last summer, I was shocked to get a personal call back from Ms. Paula herself inviting me to come by the studio for Open House. I do not have a ton of experience with dance studios, but know a personal touch when I hear one. Savannah had no prior dance experience, but we saw her grow and flourish into a blossoming ballerina over the course of the year, and now we cannot stop her from dancing! The end of year performance was spectacular, a real treat for parents! Ms. Paula has a gift, plain and simple. And we are forever grateful that we found her and have become a part of the PBPAC family."

It feel so right...
This is our first year with Ms. Paula and her team at the Paula Brown Performing Arts Center, and it feels so right. My granddaughter Madison is three years old and my grand-niece Jurnee is four years old. I have been calling since Madison was one. I was pressed to get her in class because dance is what I have been doing since a child and what I teach now. I feel a sense of trust, professionalism, love, and the gift of training them well. Madison and Jurnee are excited about attending dance class every Saturday.
Her ballet technique has drastically improved...
"Paula Brown Performing Arts Center (PBPAC) was recommended to us by two friends. After watching videos of several performance concerts, we chose PBPAC because we knew that our daughter would be taught formal dance techniques. So far, our experiences have been awesome. We are in our third dance season. Our daughter has tremendously grown in her dance studies. She loves contemporary dance the most, but her ballet techniques have drastically improved since coming from other dance schools. Also, Ms. Brown is loving towards all of her brown ballerinas. She treats them as if they were her own. We are grateful for the additional opportunities that PBPAC offers, including performing with Collage Dance Collective DC Rise and at Bowie State University Inaugural Dance Concert and Greater Washington Community Foundation Celebration of Philanthropy. This past summer, she participated in PBPAC Summer Youth Intensive in Harlem, NY. What we like most is that at PBPAC she gets to know who she is as a brown ballerina, to learn about being brown in the industry, and gets to meet those who have succeeded in their craft despite the obstacle placed in front of them because of their skin color. The instructors at PBPAC are top notch! It helps that they are all Alvin Ailey protégés. She has teachers who look like her."
