The Paula Brown Performing arts center offers comprehensive
dance curriculum to students ages three and up.
Five years ago, I had a dream to start a dance school so that young brown girls could study classical ballet in my community. God opened up doors and allowed me to launch the Paula Brown Performing Arts Center in Prince George’s County Maryland.
The journey has been rewarding, not only for me, but more importantly for my Brown Ballerinas. The training they received has given them opportunities to study at Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Center for Visual and Performing Arts at Suitland HS, American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and my mentor Debbie Allen’s Dance Academy.
This five year milestone has been both humbling and fulfilling to see the youth from this dance community begin the path toward their own dreams.
Paula Brown Performing Arts Center strives to instill its students with enthusiasm for the arts and a desire to achieve excellence, by having a positive influence on their community’s here and abroad.
Paula Brown Performing Arts Center’s mission is to provide the student with comprehensive and artistic education that fosters excellence in all forms of dance, music and theater. The technique used embraces the student with a passion for the art form. It is our desire to make the arts accessible to children in various demographics, nationally and internationally. By making this program accessible to everyone, we strive to provide scholarships and tuition assistance through contributions, sponsorship and in-kind payments.
