DANCE WHEREVER YOU ARE GLOBAL VIRTUAL PROGRAM

This Summer Global Intensive will be a fun and fierce experience designed to explore technique, flexibility, coordination and more. Our intensive will provide various dance genres such as Ballet, Pointe, Horton, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Musical Theater and even master classes from a myriad of industry professionals.
SOCIAL COLLECTIVE LUNCH
After our morning classes, dancers will have a half an hour lunch break together during this social gathering. We welcome dancers to participate in our group talk, which will include: life reflection, self-evaluating, class expression and more. We want our dancers to socialize with one another and meet other dancers from different divisions and parts of the world. Even though we are a part, we are all in this together!
Chanel R. Dews is a native of Prince George’s County Maryland. She is a Suitland High School alum who majored in dance in the Visual and Performing Arts Program under the training of Janette Gillis and Linda Hallman-Darr. At Suitland, she was a member of Explicit Dance Works Company created and directed by Shalyce Hemby and had the pleasure of working with artists such as Parris Lacey, Marcus Ball and Shawn Cosby. She has also had rigorous ballet and pointe training with Robin Tasha-Ford at the Washington Ballet, Suitland High School and Paula Brown’s Performing Arts Center. Throughout her summers, she danced at Spotlight Studio of Dance under the direction of Troy Brown and Winette McGovern. In August 2014, she was enrolled at VCU and studied dance and choreography. During her freshman year at the VCU, Chanel joined Johnnie Cruise Mercer/theREDprojectnyc dance company in his work, Undoing the Silence. This show was performed at Dogtown Dance theater and was in regards to HIV/AIDS in the LGBTQ community. She also had the pleasure of working with Dr. Elgie G. Sherrod, who is now her mentor, in her work, TWINE. During the summers of 2016 and 2017, she visited Los Angeles, California with Bryan Clawson and his business, Hollywood Biz. With Hollywood Biz, she had the honor of meeting and training with Alec Clawson, Bobby Dacones, Fresh Redding, Phil Wright, Sienna Lyons, Jayson Wright and many more. She has recently finished her education and training at VCU with professors Scott Putman, Autumn Proctor-Waddell, Courtney Harris and guest faculty, Ching-I Chanel Bigelow and MK Abadoo. Currently, she is a jazz instructor at her former studio, PBPAC and a part of Capitol Movement Inc. professional contemporary company.

Introducing you to the world of DANCE! Introducing you to the world of MUSIC! Introducing you to the world of THEATER! This program is created for the performer!! Imagine yourself on the stage dancing , singing and acting out your favorite Disney musical, movie and/or show. This group will learn choreography, songs and script from Disney musical productions. They will have the opportunity to learn, gain and explore musically. The best part of this program is, there’s NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED! Our instructors are prepared to guide and lead you through a new world, the world of art.
